Privacy Policy for E Rickshaw Rakshak

Welcome to E Rickshaw Rakshak ("Rakshak", "we", "our", or "us"), developed by Mehul Mohakud under 59 Labs.

Rakshak is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the application accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected.

By using Rakshak, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. About Rakshak

Rakshak is a mobile application designed to assist owners and authorized users of compatible Bluetooth-enabled Battery Management Systems (BMS) by providing a simple interface for supported Bluetooth communication and battery-related functions.

Rakshak operates primarily through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication and does not require users to create an account.

2. Information We Collect

Rakshak is designed to minimize data collection.

We do not collect personal information such as:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Address
  • Contacts
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Messages
  • Payment information

unless you voluntarily contact us for support.

3. Bluetooth Permissions

Rakshak requires Bluetooth permissions in order to:

  • Discover nearby compatible BLE devices
  • Establish Bluetooth connections
  • Communicate with supported Battery Management Systems
  • Read publicly available Bluetooth services and characteristics exposed by compatible devices
  • Perform supported battery management operations

Bluetooth permissions are used solely for application functionality.

4. Nearby Devices Permission

Android may request permission to access nearby Bluetooth devices.

This permission is required for Bluetooth Low Energy communication and is not used to identify you personally.

5. Location Permission

Some Android versions require Location permission for Bluetooth Low Energy scanning.

Rakshak does not:

  • Track your location
  • Store your location
  • Share your location
  • Use GPS for analytics

Location permission is requested solely because it is required by Android for BLE scanning on certain operating system versions.

6. Bluetooth Information Accessed

While communicating with compatible Bluetooth devices, Rakshak may temporarily access information such as:

  • Device name
  • Bluetooth MAC address
  • Signal strength (RSSI)
  • Manufacturer data
  • Service UUIDs
  • Characteristic UUIDs
  • Service data
  • Advertisement data
  • Device capabilities

This information is processed locally on your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it.

7. Local Data Storage

Rakshak may temporarily store:

  • Application preferences
  • Language settings
  • Diagnostic logs
  • Bluetooth scan history
  • Exported diagnostic reports

These files remain on your device unless you intentionally share them.

Rakshak does not automatically upload this information to any server.

8. Diagnostic Reports

Rakshak may allow you to export Bluetooth diagnostic reports for troubleshooting.

Exporting these reports is entirely optional.

If you choose to send diagnostic reports to the developer, they will only be used for:

  • Improving compatibility
  • Debugging issues
  • Supporting additional battery models

9. Internet Usage

The core Bluetooth functionality of Rakshak operates without an internet connection.

Future versions may include optional online features. If so, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

10. Data Sharing

Rakshak does not sell, rent, or trade your information.

We do not share Bluetooth information or diagnostic information with third parties unless:

  • You explicitly choose to share it.
  • Required by applicable law.

11. Security

Rakshak is designed with privacy in mind.

Reasonable technical and operational measures are used to reduce unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure of data.

However, no software system can guarantee absolute security.

12. Third-Party Services

Rakshak may rely on standard Android system services, including:

  • Android Bluetooth Framework
  • Google Play Services (where available)

These services are governed by their own privacy policies.

13. Children's Privacy

Rakshak is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

14. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding any personal information you voluntarily provide to us, including:

  • Request access
  • Request correction
  • Request deletion
  • Contact us regarding privacy concerns

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Any changes will be published on the official Rakshak website.
